AquaTick

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 4, 2026

AquaTick is a hydration tracking app for iPhone and Apple Watch. The app is designed to work without an account.

Data AquaTick Handles

AquaTick may store hydration entries, daily hydration goals, reminder preferences, and app settings on your device and in the app group shared with its widgets, Live Activities, and Apple Watch app.

AquaTick is local-first. Anyone can export and import drink logs as a JSON file from Settings. The backup includes hydration records and a cup snapshot (name, volume, drink type, and emoji). Cup photos are not included in the file.

If you subscribe to AquaTick Pro, AquaTick can optionally sync hydration records with iCloud using CloudKit. This sync is optional, uses the iCloud.com.benghak.AquaTick container, and does not upload cup photos, settings, ads, or paywall state. Turning Pro off stops iCloud sync and does not delete drink logs stored on your device. Re-subscribing can resume sync. Apple Watch logging still uses WatchConnectivity, not CloudKit. Apple Health is optional and is not the source of truth.

If you allow Apple Health access, AquaTick may read and write water intake data through HealthKit. Apple Health access is optional and only uses the permissions you grant in iOS.

If you allow notifications, AquaTick may schedule local reminders on your device. Notification settings can be changed in iOS Settings or inside the app.

Third-Party Services

AquaTick uses RevenueCat to process purchases and subscription status.

AquaTick uses Google Mobile Ads to show ads to users without an active subscription.

AquaTick uses Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand app usage and diagnose crashes.

When Firebase Analytics collection is enabled, AquaTick supplies the Firebase Analytics app instance identifier to RevenueCat. The RevenueCat Google Analytics integration uses this identifier to associate purchase, renewal, cancellation, and expiration events with the app instance in Firebase Analytics. These server events can include subscription product, purchase and expiration times, transaction identifiers, currency, and revenue. This does not replace RevenueCat's purchase identity or send hydration records to RevenueCat.

AquaTick also uses Amplitude to analyze screen visits, sessions, and feature attempts and outcomes. Amplitude processes an SDK-generated persistent random device identifier and basic app, device, operating system, and language information. AquaTick generates a random UserID, stores it in the device's Keychain, and supplies the same ID to Firebase Analytics and Amplitude to associate app interactions over time. When Amplitude collection is enabled, AquaTick also supplies this ID to RevenueCat to associate its subscription events with Amplitude activity, without replacing RevenueCat's existing purchase identity. This ID is not based on your name, email, Apple ID, or health records. It is local to the device and is not synced through iCloud or included in drink-log backups. IDFV and IP-based location collection are disabled in the Amplitude integration.

Firebase Analytics and Amplitude also receive categorical subscription information (Pro access, plan, trial or promotional period, renewal preference, direct purchase or family sharing, purchase environment, and whether a verified paid purchase has been observed), onboarding and reminder settings, Live Activity settings, iCloud export configuration, volume display unit, and a range for the number of custom cups. To determine paid purchase history, AquaTick may read verified StoreKit transaction history locally. Transaction amounts and identifiers from this local check are not sent in these user properties. Unknown information is recorded as unknown rather than inferred from Pro access. Settings indicate configuration, not delivery of notifications, Live Activities, or iCloud records.

Custom product analytics events sent to Firebase and Amplitude do not contain water intake amounts, hydration goals, actual drink-log dates or times, HealthKit records, cup names or photos, search text, backup contents, or raw error messages. Analytics events do include when an app interaction occurred. Screen, element, and network autocapture and Session Replay are not enabled for Amplitude.

Data Sharing

AquaTick does not require a user account and does not sell personal data.

Hydration and settings data are used to provide app features such as widgets, Live Activities, Apple Watch logging, reminders, optional Apple Health sync, JSON backup, and optional Pro iCloud drink-log sync.

Third-party services may process purchase, subscription, advertising, analytics, and crash diagnostic data as needed to provide subscriptions, ads, analytics, and crash reporting.

Your Choices

You can disable notifications in iOS Settings.

You can disable Apple Health access in the Health app or iOS Settings.

You can delete the app to remove app-local data from your device.

The analytics UserID is stored separately in the Keychain and may remain after deleting and reinstalling the app on the same device. It does not identify you across different devices. If the Keychain item is removed or unavailable after a device reset, a later installation can receive a new UserID.
